As similar as my situation apparently is to Melanie’s and Derwin’s (yes, I know they’re fictional characters), I can’t stand Melanie’s ass. She’s just so selfish, petty and pathetic, to me. I have several problems with the way she acted in last night’s episode. She crossed the line in swabbing that child. I can’t understand why she just had to get a paternity’s test without any of the actual parents’ consent. I understand as Derwin’s wife, Melanie felt like she had to know for sure if the baby was his, but if she was so concerned about it, she should have made sure that happened before she married Derwin. She obviously hadn’t been that worried about it because at this point, the baby is somewhere around 2 years old. Questions of paternity didn’t seem to be an issue for anyone at that point. Obviously Derwin was past being comfortable with the idea that the baby was his. He and that baby had obviously bonded and loved each other. It takes a special breed of bitch to even want to break a bond like that, even if the baby hadn’t been his. I just really can’t get over how disrespectful it was to Derwin to do a paternity test on his child without even making it known to him that she had an issue. That’s probably because she knew it would be a non-issue for him. That in itself is a mindset that Melanie should have understood and respected before she married Derwin. If she couldn’t have understood and respected it, she should have made that known once she understood her own thoughts about it. Letting Tasha’s jokes about the baby’s paternity get under her skin and influence her, really pissed me off. If a you let what other people say dictate your thoughts about your own situation, than you are probably not mature enough to handle even being in that situation. That’s really what Melanie’s actions came off as; embodying the actions of an immature, conniving, jealous, disrespectful, and petty female. Tasha hit it dead on when she said Janae and the baby was just a spot on Melanie’s perfect world that she was desperate to get rid of, no matter how much hurt it might cause Derwin. She was so quick to tell Derwin the baby wasn’t his, but when she got the call about the baby being his, she went silent. Why wasn’t she just as quick to correct her mistake? That goes to show Melanie is just terrible and causes undue drama! Now no one is ever going to forget this little incident and things are not going to go back to being as seemingly peaceful as things were between them.
My other issue with Melanie is that she spent all that time and Derwin’s money in medical school, but she’s not practicing. To each their own, but if she’s going to pull idiotic moves like above, she probably should be practicing. That type of stunt will kill a marriage quick! And if Derwin leaves her or gets hurt, she might be stuck. I’m just not for defining yourself as a woman as “a superstar’s wife” or just “anybody’s wife” for that matter. To each their own, but for me that is a fail.
