My friend sent me the link to this video and it made my day. I’m proud that Sesame street did something to promote our girls loving themselves and their hair. I don’t think little girls, black girls especially, can get enough positive messages about self-image, body image, and beauty. When I think about all of the issues we, our moms, and grandmothers, have grown up with and continue to deal with even in adulthood about our hair, I find this celebration to be really refreshing.
The only place I could find that is showing the official video for Willow Smith’s video which she debuted today on 106 & Park and Vevo.com, is on the family unfriendly WorldStarHipHop.com…irony. I let Karma watch the video and she has already claimed this to be HER song.
